[Editor's Note: this submission was entered past the deadline and is not eligible to win prizes for being submitted late.] I'd like to preface by apologizing for not making the deadline, and I understand if you're unable to accept this. It wasn't complete until now because myself and the group that helped make this were producing it as a final for our 3D Animation class at East Tennessee State University, therefore weren't nearly complete by the December 1st deadline of this contest, and we wanted it to look as polished as possible before letting others see it.
With that out of the way, this is by far one of our biggest accomplishments in college so far, as we went into the project with none of us even knowing each other's names and came out as reliable team members. Everything in this animation was done using Autodesk Maya Software, and there were surprisingly very few issues throughout the production process and we all couldn't be happier with the result!
I designed all of the characters, modeled and rigged them, and animated them dancing in front of the tree. I also modeled the realistic Christmas tree and wreath as well as provided the camera animation during the cartoon segments, and edited the final product in Premiere, credits included.
Brianna McDermott designed, modeled, and lit the fireplace room, as well as provided the camera animations for the scenes in there.
Rick Harris modeled the base of the snow globe and some objects around the room, as well as animated the characters coming out of their houses.
And Kaylie Kirkpatrick modeled the cartoon world and provided the fire animation.
Again, apologies for being over a week past the deadline. I sincerely hope you enjoyed the animation regardless! Merry Christmas and happy holidays to you!
