Scope of Program:
The University of Arizona offers undergraduate Visual Communications students two tracks to choose from. Design Track students study web design, typography, motion graphics and business of design. Illustration Track students focus on traditional and digital media, human anatomy and fundamentals of illustration. Students in both tracks will participate in eight-week thematic workshops during their first year of study. Topics include Mapping, Space, Surface and elective workshops. M. F. A. students may concentrate in one of several areas of study, including, animation, video, and motion design. Master's degree students will face two reviews, a first-year review and a Candidacy review, and will present a thesis exhibition.
Prospective students must present a portfolio with their application. Scholarships and student employment are available. Graduate students may apply for fellowships and travel grants.
