After completing the First Year Program, students may create their own programs of study or work within one of the school's many art and design departments. The school's credit/no credit grading system is designed to promote creativity.
B. F. A. students interested in Animation and Emerging Technologies may take courses in animation history, drawing for animation, 2D and 3D animation, flash programming, web art, immersive environments and advanced projects. Students wishing to specialize in New Media may study animation, puppet animation, storyboarding, art game studies and media practices. Bachelor's degree candidates who focus on Visual Communication Design can concentrate on illustration technologies, typography, graphic design and digital interactive design; they may also present a B. F. A. show.
M. F. A. candidates attend graduate critique seminars in a variety of disciplines. They also study contemporary design practice, physical and interactive communications and studio art while developing their theses and exhibitions.
