Scope of Program:
The New World School of the Arts is jointly run by Miami Dade College and the University of Florida. Graduates receive their degrees from the University of Florida. The New World School of the Arts also offers a high school program. Electronic Intermedia students take courses in drawing, 2D design, art history, computer art, digital photography, computer art animation and intermedia computer art. A senior project and advanced projects are required. Graphic Design students concentrate on drawing, art history, 2D design, computer art, illustration, communication design, typography and photography. A senior project and internship are integral to the program.
A portfolio is required for admission to the B. F. A. program; sketchbooks may also be submitted. A limited number of merit scholarships are available.
