Scope of Program:
Fine arts students at Lawrence Technological University begin their studies with foundation courses in art history, art and design awareness, and design. Game Art students continue with coursework in games and animation, game genre development, imaging, life drawing, 2D and 3D animation, game design, scripting and new media. Students participate in a senior seminar and complete a senior project and portfolio. Graphic Design students concentrate on imaging, typography, video imaging, graphic design history and sketching for illustration. An internship is required. Graphic Design students participate in a senior seminar and create both a portfolio and an imaging thesis. Imaging – Digital Arts students focus on design, typography, photography, video imaging, digital photography, new media and digital arts. An internship is required. Students in the Imaging – Digital Arts program participate in a senior seminar and create an imaging thesis and portfolio.
Lawrence Technological University accepts the Common Application. Game Art applicants must also submit a portfolio. All students are issued a laptop computer and appropriate software. Merit and need-based scholarships are available. Michigan residents are encouraged to apply for state scholarships and grants.
