Tuition Information: Undergraduate residents $2,295, nonresidents $12,458. Graduate residents $6,249, nonresidents $20,111 for the 2010 – 2011 school year. Tuition amounts do not include mandatory fees, which are assessed per credit hour.

Scope of Program:
Florida Atlantic University requires undergraduate visual arts students to begin as Studio Arts majors. Students advance to upper division status as Graphic Design majors by taking a common core of classes and passing a portfolio review during their sophomore year. Students focus on art appreciation, design, color, drawing, graphic design, typography, design methodology and computer methods. A senior seminar and senior design studio round out the program. M. F. A. candidates in Visual Arts: Graphic Design take courses in history and theory of art and design and participate in design seminars, studios and workshops. A thesis exhibition is required. Master's degree candidates in Media, Technology and Entertainment concentrate on digital art, new media, interactive multimedia, video communications, game programming, mobile multimedia and smartphone programming. A thesis is required.
Applicants to the M. F. A. program must submit a portfolio. Teaching assistantships and scholarships are available. Florida residents are encouraged to apply for the Bright Futures scholarship. Florida Atlantic University participates in the Academic Common Market. Residents of Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia may be eligible for tuition reduction under this program.
