Scope of Program:
B. F. A. candidates at Brooklyn College complete foundation courses in design, drawing and color, modern art, 3D design and art history. Students then focus on visual communication, publication design, digital art, internet art and design, digital video, multimedia and 2D animation and 3D graphics and animation. Students complete a B. F. A. capstone seminar.
M. F. A. candidates complete coursework in theory and history of design, collaborative strategies, writing and practice and art history. Students complete a master seminar and research project and a separate master project; they also create a final exhibition.
Applicants to the B. F. A. and M. F. A. programs must submit a portfolio. B. F. A. applicants must complete 26 credit hours in Studio Art before they can apply to the program. Merit and need-based scholarships are available.
