Scope of Program:
All undergraduate students at the Art Academy of Cincinnati complete foundation courses in creative processes, color, digital media, drawing and core studio. Illustration students concentrate on composition, communication, figuration, art history, advanced tutorials and special topics in illustration. All students complete a professional component (internship, professional practice or other integrated project) and create a senior thesis and exhibition. Visual Communication Design students focus on typography, imagery, design systems, integration, advanced tutorials and digital arts. All students complete a professional component (internship, professional practice or other integrated project) and create a senior thesis and exhibition.
All applicants to the Art Academy of Cincinnati must submit a portfolio. Students must pass portfolio reviews each year and complete self-evaluations during their first three years of study. Scholarships are available. Ohio residents are encouraged to apply for state-sponsored grants and scholarships.
